This program will take an indepth look at the Medicaid program for long-term care.  We will discuss the types of services that Medicaid covers, including the eligibility requirements and the application for each.  The documents required by the Medicaid caseworkers will be outlined.  The 5-year look back rule will be presented, along with how Medicaid determines the period of time for improper transfers made during the look back period.  We will explore planning techniques which allow a person to qualify for Medicaid, yet maximize the assets that are available to them.  Finally, even if you are not interested in adding Elder Law to your practice, we will identify standard estate planning techniques that may become pitfalls for Medicaid planning.

LCBA Softball Game at Crusher’s Stadium

Missed out on playing last year?  Don’t worry because the LCBA is now planning its Second Annual Softball Game/Family Event at All Pro Freight Stadium for Thursday, August 28, 2014.  If you talk with anyone that played or just attended, you know how much fun was had by all.  Don’t miss out this year.

We have once again rented out the entire stadium for game of softball for LCBA members.  We need 30 people to play.  Like last year, the teams will be drawn randomly from a hat a few days prior to the game.  If you are interested in playing, please let us know asap.  This is a co-ed event.

Bring the family because we will have lots of things for the kids to do, including inflatables for our use and Stomper will be there once again to entertain the kids!

Families, friends, neighbors are all invited to watch the game.  Come a little early and enjoy a picnic dinner before the game on the Crusher’s patio ($15 for ages 4 and up).  The picnic is from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. and the game starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.  Call us to reserve your spot (440-323-8416).

This is a great event for the entire family.

Let the Lorain County Bar Association and Northcoast Grapevine Tours provide you with a unique and memorable experience touring the beautiful wineries and vineyards of the Lake Erie Shores wine trail.  Northcoast Grapevine Tours is the premier provider of winery and wine event tours in northwest Ohio, specializing in smaller groups so they can deliver a more personal and intimate service.

Lorain County wineries will be showcased in this tour.  You will be educated on the local grape growing and wine producing industries along Ohio’s north coast.  The area is rich in history and tradition, with winemaking dating back to the early 1800’s.  You will enjoy a day long escorted tour through the countryside to a select group of wineries.

The tour will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  We will visit four to six wineries and enjoy 5 to 6 samples at each one.  The cost will be between $80 and $90 per person (dependent upon how many go).  The fee is for the tour bus, the guide, and the tastings.  If you would like food, that is on your own (unless we order lunch as a group from Paper Moon Winery, which would raise the coast approximately $15 per person – this will be decided by the group once confirmed reservations are in).

If you would like to attend this event, please send in your confirmation along with your deposit ($25 per person attending) by July 15th.  If we do not receive enough confirmed reservations, we will return your deposit.  Once we have enough people to book the trip, you will be notified via email.  The balance owed is due October 1, 2014.

Please submit this page to the LCBA before July 15, 2014
(627 Broad Street, Elyria, OH 44035)

Please register me/us for the October 11 Winery Grapevine Tour.  Enclosed is my/our deposit in the amount of $____________ ($25 per person.)  I understand that I am required to pay the balance on or before October 1, 2014.  (The amount of the balance will be determined by the number of people attending – either $80 or $90 per person).
